India vs. South Africa

South Africa has had one of the strongest teams on the global stage and they've produced some astonishing cricketers but never before have they been in a World Cup final. Their history is of heartache. Now, somehow, after an undefeated month, they're facing an aggressive and hungry India that has beaten Australia and England to reach the last match.

The burden of history is greater for South Africa. The last time India won a World Cup was in 2011 when Tendulkar was in the team. They play excellent cricket -- look at the recent Test, ODI, and T20I finals -- but fail to win gold. So, they have their own particular mental block.

The winner will be the team that is psychologically stronger.

After decades of pain and anguish, the mighty South Africans are marching towards the grand trophy. 30 runs in 30 balls. Klaasen is playing the role of Ben Stokes today. The Indian bowlers need a miracle. Their batsmen made the highest score in a T20I final but that will last a few hours. Reminds me of that awesome match where Australia made 434 and then ...

From 30 in 30 to 16 in 6 balls. Zero boundaries in four overs! Absolutely incredible! Is this the greatest choke of all time or can Miller reach glory? India coming back from the dead with their bowling.

Choke it is. India prove to be stronger. All that intense IPL training and practice wins them the gold after 13 years. The wounds for South Africa become even deeper. Their implosion in the last five overs was spectacular! From needing 30 runs in 30 balls to losing by 7 runs. Whatever India is paying Bumrah is not enough.

South Africa plundered 24 runs from the 15th over. Then, they managed a shockingly miserable 22 runs in the last five overs. Just like against Pakistan earlier in the tournament, the Indian bowling unit showed up to stop the rampage in the dying overs. The opposition imploded in both cases. India fought hard and beat Pakistan, Australia, England, and South Africa. And they went undefeated. They are, finally, like that first World Cup in 2007, T20 champions.

Virat Kohli, the run machine that was rusty during the tournament, made his highest score of the event in the final. He retires from the format as a champion. He didn't achieve the greatness of Tendulkar but the fact that he's compared to the man is achievement enough.

The intersection of enrichment

One man is in hospital and two suspects are outstanding following a shooting in Hamilton’s downtown core Friday morning.

Hamilton police say the shooting happened in the area of MacNab Street South and King Street West.

There was another shooting in the same area a few month ago where a teenager was shot and killed in broad daylight. The police can massage the statistics for theft, robbery, fraud, and assaults but it's tough to ignore the increasing numbers of bullet wounds and dead bodies.

Super felon

Tonight's presidential debate ended abruptly when Donald Trump was served with papers notifying him that he had been indicted for the murder of an elderly man on CNN.

"Hey, I didn't do anything!" Trump told authorities. "He was like that when I got here!"

Trump, who had planned to debate President Joe Biden, argued that the strange old man keeled over all on his own.

Guilty!

Multicultural rape

Satire is dead in the modern world.

A 20-year-old woman in Hamburg, Germany, has been sent to prison after making “hateful” remarks towards a migrant who was involved in the gang rape of a child. The woman is just one of 140 people being investigated for making “harmful comments” towards the rapists.

The nature of evil:

A total of 11 men were initially charged, but two were acquitted quickly due to a lack of DNA evidence. The sperm of nine of the men, however, had been successfully recovered from the girl’s body.

Five of the men were in possession of German passports, while the remainder were not citizens of Germany. Among those charged, none were of German heritage. The rapists were identified as a Pole, an Egyptian, a Libyan, a Kuwaiti, an Iranian, an Armenian, an Afghan, a Syrian, and a Montenegrin.

The die-versity definitely did the job that Germans just don't want to perform.

However, despite DNA and WhatsApp evidence, eight of the nine men convicted walked free with probation and spent no time in prison at all. The ninth was sentenced to two years and nine months in prison without parole.

The traitorous political class let's them in the country and then the wicked judges allows them to roam free after they've been found guilty of a heinous crime. The primary problem isn't the barbarian rapists.

A life for life savings

The gunman in a fatal Toronto shooting earlier this week believed the two victims had defrauded his family, his wife said Wednesday, as court records indicate the family was suing the pair after losing more than CDN $1 million in an alleged investment scam.

The victims couldn't bring him to justice. So, justice was brought to him:

Police have identified the victims of Monday’s shooting as 54-year-old Arash Missaghi and 44-year-old Samira Yousefi, but have not identified the 46-year-old shooter.

Court records detail how Pogorelovsky and her husband sued the two people killed in the shooting, and others, after losing CDN $1.28 million (US$930,000) in an alleged syndicated mortgage fraud.

Yeah, this wasn't his first scam.

Missaghi faced charges in 2018 for his alleged role in a complex mortgage fraud scheme valued at CDN $17 million (US$12.4 million), an investigation police dubbed as Project Bridle Path.

Giant Killers

Afghanistan effectively knocked out New Zealand and Australia from this World Cup. Now, they're in the semi-final where their fairy tale is going to end. Though, there is a very real possibility of a South African ch-ch-choke!

Poor Litton Das. He was stranded on 56 while his entire team got out for a combined 40 runs.

The England-India semi-final should be dynamite. The World Champions against the aggressive fed-up trophy-less Indians. England has the psychological edge. Let's see which India shows up: the weary, slow, sad option that we saw in the ODI final last year or the fire breathing, Australia-destroying side from a few days ago.

No support for Max

Glenn Maxwell had a horrid IPL season. He had failed as a batsman. Even allowing for his attacking style, his numbers were shockingly low. The undefeated Aussies met Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup and something strange happened. Maxwell clicked but the rest of batting unit had an epic collapse.

A few numbers tell the tale.

Glenn Maxwell. Sixes: 3. Runs scored: 59.

The rest of his team. Sixes: 0! Runs scored: 52.

Credit to the Afghani bowlers for getting some shockingly cheap wickets. No other team is more dangerous in a global tournament than Australia.

Two women a week are getting culturally enriched in Paris:

More than three quarters of rapes on the streets of Paris last year were committed by foreign nationals, according to shocking data from French authorities.

97 rapes were recorded in public spaces in France's capital in 2023 - fewer than a third of which have been solved, local outlet Europe 1 reported.

Of the 97, 36 were arrested, 28 of whom were of foreign nationality - a staggering 77 per cent of those accused - while 30 cases were solved by the authorities.

Two armed men believed to be Venezuelan migrants — one of whom was carrying a fully automatic pistol — carjacked an off-duty NYPD officer in Harlem, law enforcement sources said.

The officer was lucky. He didn't get maximum cultural enrichment.

Rivera and Crespo were each charged with robbery, grand theft auto, possession of a machine gun, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of stolen property, making rapid-fire modifications to a gun and unlawful possession of an ammo feed device.

It’s the second time in a month an attack on the NYPD has been linked to migrants.

If this is happening to random cops, then imagine the terror for the average unarmed resident of NYC.

Biden is going to offer amnesty to hundreds of thousands of criminals? More like tens of millions.

It's not like this is something new. Reagan's amnesty for nearly 3 million illegal immigrants in 1986 didn't help. It put in place concrete perverse incentives. Who cares about proper paper work? Cross the border illegally. Work cash jobs. Pay zero taxes. Get a fake driver's license. And then: viola! The rules have been updated. No jail! You are now magically a legal citizen.

The millions of people who wait in line, spend years on paperwork and fees, and then legally immigrate to the US must feel like chumps.

Pakistan all out

In the first game, their batsmen arrived. In the second game, their bowlers arrived. Today, the rain arrived.

[...] a torrid tournament culminated in a hasty exit under gloomy skies that epitomised the grim nature of their World Cup campaign. They arrived in the USA with no warm-up games scheduled, and most of their practice sessions were cancelled due to rain. Their unfamiliarity was punished by the home team in their opening fixture as USA pipped them in the Super Over, before Pakistan fell apart chasing 120 against India, losing by six runs.

Pakistan fully earned their exit. They lost their two matches from winning positions. The ruthless attitude and aggression needed to win was completely absent. No team can expect to continue in a global event by being cautious, conservative, and painfully slow.

This is why teams like England and Australia will meet in the final.

This mindset is largely why their countries will continue to be shitholes. Instead of learning and adopting from the thousands of years of history of Western Civilization, they'd rather act like haughty clowns.

No space

Some first-year students attending the University of Guelph may have trouble finding a place to stay during the semester.

The university recently announced that over 7,000 high school students across Ontario who had applied for programs at U of G have accepted offers of admission.

However, they say housing for new and returning students are not guaranteed for the upcoming school year. In a news release, U of G will accommodate 85 per cent of all students who applied for residence and of those accommodated, 95 per cent are Ontario students.

So, a 1,000 students will have to rent a closet close to campus.

Canada's housing market is one of the worst in the world. Most people make close to $50,000 a year when the average, old, tiny house goes for over $1 million. Forget buying a house, basic rent for a 1-bedroom apartment would devour over half the income of many Canadians.

In such times, the Liberals imported over a million people last year. They are on track to repeat their insanity. The polls show that they'll get crushed in the upcoming elections. They're addicted to cheap labor and ever increasing house prices to keep the boomers happy. The "right wing" will win the next election. If it doesn't reverse course, then civil war becomes highly probable.

India vs. Pakistan

India all out for 119 in 19 overs. Their lowest total ever against Pakistan. The Pakistani bowling showed up. Only three Indians reached double figures. The dangerous trio of Kohli, Yadav, and Pandya weren't among them. The big question: Is the Indian bowling squad capable of defending this tiny total?

This is definitely Pakistan's match to lose now. They can win this with singles and doubles. Zero need for risk.

The answer to the big question: Yes. The Indian bowlers won it today. Five out of six of them didn't exceed an economy rate of six. That is spectacular for a T20 game.

It was a colossal failure of the Pakistani batting lineup. They needed 63 runs from 60 balls with 9 wickets in hand! From overs 15 to 19, they didn't hit a single boundary. Naseem Shah managed two in the last over but it was too little too late. The lack of intent and the mounting dot balls were quite shocking.

A few days ago, the "Indian B team" beat them. Today, the regulars did it.

That's $5 million each. These new "Americans" sure know how to make money. Oh, it gets better:

A juror in the trial of a group of Somalian migrants accused of swindling over $40 million from COVID funds was mysteriously offered $120,000 on the last day of the case, officials say.

Ahead of jury deliberations in the trial of seven people tied to the Feeding Our Future charity, one juror reported that a woman came to her Minneapolis home with the bribe, and said there would be more cash on the way 'if she votes to acquit.'

The bribe has led prosecutors to issue an FBI search warrant on the defendant's phones, as they argued that 'it is highly likely that someone with access to the juror’s personal information was conspiring with, at minimum, the woman who delivered the $120,000 bribe.'

Even the jury is not safe from their enrichment!
