Inflation: the insidious tax

Go to a local pool, $12 a person, or $48 for a family of 4. Grab Panera for lunch on the way for $48. $100 for a quick summer outing. A few years ago this trip was half this much. Getting tough to justify even small outings.

Mind you, this is a “public” pool inside a metropark. The metropark is funded by taxpayer dollars. There’s also a $45 annual pass to enter the metropark. The pool is still $12 a person.

Of course we could pack lunches, and will from now on, but that’s missing the point.…
