No mercy

Government increased its power and Big Pharma is still making billions of dollars from the vaxx. In Quebec, vaccine passports were required to shop at big grocery stores early this year. The government mandated that you must inject yourself with poison to buy food!

We're supposed to forget and move on? No. Won't happen.

World Cup on fire!

Four shocking results so far:

  • West Indies knocked out of the World Cup.
  • New Zealand crushed the Aussies in Australia.
  • England (the heavyweight favorites!) got smacked by Ireland.
  • Pakistan lose to Zimbabwe by 1 run!

The only big team that hasn't been humbled is India.

Match of the Year

The Indian Runs Machine delivers on the grand stage:

He might have been "lost for words" by the end of it, but Virat Kohli was sure that his undefeated 53-ball 82 against Pakistan on Sunday in India's men's T20 World Cup opener at the MCG was the best T20 innings of his career, "because of the magnitude of the game and what the situation was".

Kohli is the best Indian batsman after Tendulkar and today he showed how and why.

After a full 40 overs of thrilling chaos, it would be quite something to see these two teams in the final.

Equality in the face!

Denying reality can have extremely painful consequences:

High schools in Cherokee County, North Carolina, have canceled volleyball matches against one school after a transgender athlete (a boy living as a girl) injured another girl at a recent game.

The injury occurred last month when a Highlands High volleyball player made a spike and smashed a Hiwassee Dam High player in the forehead, causing severe head injuries.

A County Board Member jumps into action after the fact:

“I’ll never put a child in a position to be seriously injured,” Wood said. “I think the odds (of injury) in these non-contact sports aren’t high. But in particular, in this meeting, a coach of 40 years said they’d never seen a hit like this.

That's the modern world where these fully formed adults couldn't see this coming. A girl had to get a severe head injury before they stopped this dangerous nonsense.

The pain isn't over

When everything is powered by debt (mortgage, stonks, crypto), then a spectacular rise in interest rates takes it all down.

PR stunt

Imagine if a car dealership froze the prices of their cheap models for three months. Would that be newsworthy?

Loblaw (L.TO) is freezing prices on more than 1,500 No Name products until Jan. 31, as skyrocketing inflation continues to drive up grocery bills for Canadians.

Canada's biggest grocer announced Monday that it will freeze prices of all its private label No Name items until the end of January.

So, one of the largest grocery chains in Canada won't increase price of some products for three months. Since the beginning of 2020, I've noticed that the price of an average item in a grocery store goes up twice a year. So, basically, every six months, there's a price increase. Of course, they don't all go up at once but that's the general time frame. Freezing prices for three months doesn't sound that impressive.

All Loblaws has done is set themselves up for a huge price hike in February and informed us all about it in advance.

USB 4.20 Gen 6x9

A strict standard for clearly labelled USB ports (max. bandwidth) and USB-C cables (max. data transfer rate, max. power delivery) would be a simple solution to this mess. Come to think of it, it's strange that they haven't done that in over two decades.

Creepy Joe fail

Biden stomps on domestic oil production, empties the strategic reserve by half, and then begs the Saudis to delay their cuts. What a clown.

A bombshell statement from Saudi Arabia states the Biden administration reached out and pleaded with them to delay the OPEC deal to cut oil production until after the midterms.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said Thursday morning that US officials 'suggested' postponing the decision to reduce output by two million barrels a day by a month until after November 8, when millions of Americans will cast their ballots.

Are you a superhero?

The general is too kind:

France’s General Christian Blanchon published a tribute letter to the unvaccinated in September 2022, calling citizens who refused the COVID injections “superheroes.” The letter made waves in Europe and around the world among people critical of draconian COVID policies but was largely ignored by the mainstream press.

I've lived in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the US, and Canada. I've learned repeatedly that most people are idiots. Therefore, "peer pressure" has zero effect on my life. Of course, this Covid nonsense went a bit further. Face diapers were required for public transportation. Covid passports were mandated for gyms, restaurants, cinemas, theaters, air travel, etc. That did impact my life but it was a small inconvenience. Today, masks are optional and the passport has been removed. Society is slowly catching up to reality.

USB naming changing. Again!

Take USB naming schemes and combine that with different kinds of USB cables and it's a headache for the average consumer.

Just pick up a USB-C cable and the basic text on it tells you its max speed capability and max power delivery. That would be an awesome start. What's so complicated about that!?

A small gift

A student union has come under fire after it banned white students from Black History Month events, sparking accusations of racial segregation.

Students at the University of Westminster were told by its union in an email that some of the events would be 'reserved for black students to encourage a safe space for discussions and honest conversations'.

Yeah, whenever I think of a "safe space", it's a horde of black people.

The war will get hotter

Vox Day on the Russian non-reactions so far:

[...] Russia has been doing an awful lot of not-responding of late. The Russian people are starting to get angry about all the not-responding. This makes me conclude that whatever the Russians are planning, it’s probably going to be something even bigger than the February surprise of the special military operation, because this was a direct attack on Russia.

Targeting American assets in Ukraine or Europe? Using tactical nukes? Helping China with Taiwan?

We do live in interesting times.
