When there's not enough supply:

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff, on March 22, at approximately 5:14 pm, officials at Rosemont High School in the Sacramento City Unified School District reported that they had discovered the "All n*ggers should die" scrawled in pencil on the wall of a second-floor hallway in the school building.

Security footage obtained by school officials showed two juvenile black females writing the phrase on the wall, according to the Sheriff’s office.

Premier Doug Ford's government is unveiling the first phase of its plan to deal with the skyrocketing cost of buying a home in Ontario.

The last few years have been brutal:

In 2021, the average sale price of homes in the province was 44 per cent higher than two years earlier, according to figures from the Canadian Real Estate Association.

I just looked online at a nearby house for sale: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1400 sq. ft. That's a small house by modern standards. Asking price? $1.45 million.

How could they lie!?!?!

A news presenter on Afghanistan’s TOLO TV wept as he read the announcement. Images of girls crying after being turned back from school flooded social media. Aid groups and many others remained baffled.

The Taliban have so far refused to explain their sudden decision to renege on the pledge to allow girls to go to school beyond sixth grade. Schools were supposed to reopen to older girls on Wednesday, the start of the new school year.

The following part made me laugh:

It's unclear whether a tussle among the Taliban on how to rule the country could have contributed to Wednesday's ban but Torek Farhadi, an analyst who has advised past Afghan governments, called it a misfire.

“They really messed up by not keeping their word,” he said of the Taliban.

During the 90s, the Taliban was

  • putting men in prison because their beards were short.
  • shattering audio/video equipment because it's against Islam.
  • destroying non-Islamic art, statues, and historical sites.
  • beating women in public if any part of their body was visible.
  • executing convicted women by shooting them in the back of the head in packed stadiums.

But, NOW, they've really messed up!

The Australian captain doesn't shy away from risks:

Captain Pat Cummins had ended Australia's second innings at 227 for 3 shortly after tea in a bid to ensure plenty of time for his bowlers on a pitch playing tricks but is not a minefield. The declaration dangled a carrot to Pakistan, who defied the odds during their remarkable chase of 506 in Karachi when they finished at 443 for 7 from 171.4 overs.

278 runs scored, ten wickets shattered, draw, or a tie!? It sets up a thrilling fifth day.

Update: History was on Australia's side and they won by over a 100 runs.

The Big Three in the England middle order crumbled for a grand total of two runs and then something happened that hasn't happened in over 100 years: the last two "batsmen" fought to become the top scorers.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday that she has tested positive again for COVID-19 and will not accompany President Joe Biden to Europe for meetings on Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Psaki tweeted that she took a test in preparation for Wednesday's trip and it came back positive. It's her second time testing positive for COVID-19. She first contracted the virus in October 2021.

A Washington school board butted heads over a new student discipline policy that considers a student’s race before deciding on a punishment.

Reason #456,890 why diversity is the death of a country:

Attempting to further explain the concept, board member Anthony Veliz offered a clumsy example of a student stealing a slice of pizza. Veliz argued that the student’s culture teaches that stealing is permitted.

“What if, you know, just saying, like, in my background, what if that type of rule that we broke was more acceptable at my house, right, versus your house?” Veliz said. “And, you know, when I’m talking to them, like, ‘hey, you know, what, actually, I thought I was okay, I thought it was fine to grab that piece of pizza before anybody else. Because in my house, I’m allowed to do that.’ Right?”

For context, the lifetime earnings of an average Canadian is under $2 million.

Perhaps, the economics professor who wrote the article above can help provide a few tips to this woman who feels the sting:

Kathleen Black is facing a 50% rent increase on the older three-bedroom central Scottsdale apartment she shares with her four kids and father.

“My apartment’s management is upping my rent by $800 a month,” said Black, who moved from Goodyear to Scottsdale in 2020 after a divorce so her children could go to school with their cousins.

“That will take almost 100% of my income, and my father is on a fixed income," she said. "Our apartment isn’t that nice.”

That's a rough $10,000 increase in rent for the next year. It's true that those making $300,000 won't sweat over it but those who earn around $30,000 will have harsh and ugly choices ahead.

Absolutely. Potato, is without a doubt, the best food to eat if one wants to lose weight.

I've had it as my only meal of the day a few times: one pound of boiled potatoes, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and hot sauce. If you want a little protein, then add tuna with olive oil.

When a White guy uses the word nigger, it can often be the end of his online life, job, and career. The context is irrelevant. However, forget Very Bad Words, it's acceptable to openly call for the murder of certain White people and leaders of select White nations.

Meta Platforms (FB.O) will allow Facebook and Instagram users in some countries to call for violence against Russians and Russian soldiers in the context of the Ukraine invasion, according to internal emails seen by Reuters on Thursday, in a temporary change to its hate speech policy.

The social media company is also temporarily allowing some posts that call for death to Russian President Vladimir Putin or Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in countries including Russia, Ukraine and Poland, according to a series of internal emails to its content moderators.

Pakistan batter Imam-ul-Haq has dismissed the debate surrounding the Rawalpindi pitch, insisting that the hosts were simply playing to their strengths, and that the pitch was the same for both teams. Imam went on to question whether Australia would ever prepare their pitches at home after consulting the opponent.

Why so fragile?

A Dunkin’ employee in Tampa, Florida, accused of fatally punching a customer who used a racial slur against him last year, was sentenced to two years of house arrest after pleading guilty to felony battery.

Corey Pujols, 27, was ordered by a Tampa judge on Monday to complete 200 hours of community service and attend an anger management course.

This part is quite amusing:

“Two of the primary factors were the aggressive approach the victim took toward the defendant and everyone working with the defendant, and that the victim repeatedly used possibly the most aggressive and offensive term in the English language,” Kamm said.

He said nigger! will be used as a Get Out of Jail card forever.
