It doesn't matter who you are; a Canadian or a foreigner. Putting all your money in real estate is a huge risk. Jing, fresh out of university, with no income stream now has ugly losses in front of her.

Anyway, this property transfer tax on foreign buyers, introduced in late July 2016, is quite puzzling. Take a look at this graph (from Garth Turner):

4. The possession of an alcoholic beverage is punishable by death.
5. Homosexuality is forbidden and harshly punished (lashes, prison, possible beheading).
6. Death by stoning is the punishment for adultery.
7. Thieves have their arm, and sometimes also their leg, chopped off.
8. Women must cover their bodies. Only their eyes and hands can be visible. The religious police enforce these rules.
9. Women cannot travel alone. For example, a taxi driver will not pick up a lone woman. Women must travel with a male relative.
10. Cinemas are not allowed for the general public. 
11. No art or music courses offered in the school curriculum. Those are considered wasteful, infidel activities.

How would I know that all of this is definitely true? I lived there for over a decade.

Building a nightmare

I buy the components for my computer and then build the whole system. One time, after putting everything together, the system wouldn't boot. After about twenty minutes, I realized that the SATA cable to the hard drive wasn't properly plugged in.

The people in the British government who agreed to this should be publicly flogged -- not to worry, that's sharia compliant.

How does Brock University react?

Khattab was appointed the volunteer Muslim chaplain at Brock at the start of 2015 and is the Imam of a mosque in St. Catharines.

What the hell is a Muslim chaplain? Are there any Jewish chaplains or Hindu chaplains out there?

The title of the story is even more misleading: Why Brock University won't remove a chaplain who compared homosexuality to cancer. The word "Muslim" is not even present! By reading only the title, one gets the impression that a Christian priest made such comments.

Colorado’s labor department has ruled that more than 100 Muslim workers fired from a Fort Morgan meatpacking plant are eligible for unemployment benefits because a company cannot force workers to choose between their religion and their jobs.

The workers filed for unemployment payments after they were fired in December by Cargill Inc., amid a dispute over whether the Muslim employees could take prayer breaks during their shifts.

There are five prayers in a day for Muslims. Each prayer, including cleaning rituals, can take anywhere from ten to fifteen minutes. Let's say that during his shift, the Muslim worker has to take three prayer breaks. That's up to 45 minutes of time on the clock for which no work gets done. Don't be surprised if the Muslim worker expects to get paid for that break. In an eight hour shift, that amounts to almost 10% charity from the business. With razor thin profit margins (5% or less), that's just dumb.

It's better to simply not hire the morons in the first place.

According to his lawyer Karam Ghobrial, police and prison authorities have kept him in detention by losing the court order, requiring a new birth certificate and moving him secretly.

An Augustana University student is suing his school after being expelled following an accusation of campus sexual assault.

The student says in his lawsuit that he initially told the school that a fellow student had been falsely telling people he had raped her. He "asked the school to intervene." Instead, the school went to the accuser and suggested she go to the police. The accuser did so and on Aug. 4, 2015, the accused student was arrested and charged with sexual assault.

Just 24 hours after the accused presented evidence that showed he couldn't possibly have committed the rape as described, the charges were dismissed, according to the lawsuit. Most notably, the accused had lost his feet in a car accident and couldn't physically have committed the rape. He also mentioned that this particular accuser had previously falsely accused other Augustana students of rape, including an ex-boyfriend.

The guy is incapable of jumping out of bushes at night, dragging the bitch to a secluded place and raping her. He was suspended anyway.

Hamilton native Rachael Bestard found that out the hard way when she applied for a passport this week. 

For passport applications, the federal government requires a photo I.D. that identifies the gender of the person. Well, the dumb province of Ontario removed the gender portion of the I.D. from their health cards. Result: massive headaches.

It's time to virtue signal:

The province's Liberal government said it is making the changes "to ensure the fair, ethical and equitable treatment of people with trans and non-binary gender identity."

Bestard maintains this is a positive step for non-binary people, and one that she has absolutely no problem with. "I do understand the nuances of the LGBTQ community, and the challenges they face," she said.
