I heard the following conversation between two persons at work today.
K: About these cartoonists in France. You know, I don't think that people should be killed for what they say or write BUT what they wrote was so ... racist! I'm all for freedom of speech-
A: Isn't that the whole point of free speech?
K: ...
One of these people was a woman, the other was, of course, a man.
Saudi blogger Raif Badawi, a 30-year-old writer, activist and creator of the website Free Saudi Liberals, received the first 50 lashes of a 1,000-lash sentence in a public demonstration in the coastal city of Jeddah after evening prayers on Friday. His crime? Criticizing Saudi Arabia's powerful religious clerics.
Badawi was also charged with apostasy which carries the death penalty. In a show of "leniency", this charge was later dropped.
After appealing the conviction, Badawi was re-sentenced — to 1,000 lashes and ten years in prison, as well as a $267,000 fine. According to witnesses, Badawi remained silent as he was flogged. He is scheduled to face the same 50-lash sentence every Friday for the next six months.
The police organized an enormous manhunt across Paris on Wednesday for three suspects they said were involved in a brazen and methodical slaughter at a satirical newspaper that had lampooned Islam.

A private taxi firm has sparked outrage over a ‘sexist’ advert that has attracted a wave of complaints.
If anything, the ad is quite clever. But let's see what's so offensive about the above image:
"It's disgusting that in 2015 sexism is alive and well in Southampton, enough for it to be an acceptable ad campaign, especially in the New Year when companies too often try to make a profit over negative self body image."
I didn't expect anything less from a brain-dead feminist. The ad makes fun of a oh-so-cool clown and a land whale. Yes, they're both not sexy. The company should not back down.
"We apologise for any offence that may have been caused by either of the posters,” manager Lee Haynes told The Tab.
Idiots! Never apologize. It only makes you look weak.
"Of the 22 staff employed with the company, 16 are female and we have a diverse range of ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation within that group."
Did that buy you any mercy? The feminazis don't care. They'll pummel your business because you said that "fat isn't sexy" which is basically attacking 99% of feminists.
Accusing the umma (world Islamic population) of encouraging the hostility of the entire world, al-Sisi’s speech is so dramatic and essentially revolutionary it brings to mind Khrushchev’s famous speech exposing Stalin. Many have called for a reformation of Islam, but for the leader of the largest Arab nation to do so has world-changing implications.
It won't work. Islam spread through merciless warfare. To reject Jihad is to reject Muhammad and his example. That's a big no no in Islam. Simply saying this can get one killed.
However, there is one positive in the speech: the rejection of the idea that Muslims are victims! The reaction from the West -- the growing Nationalism in Europe -- is just that: a reaction. When Muslims migrate to the West and bring their barbaric ways with them, then any Westerner with balls is going to oppose them. It is the West that is being victimized by this low-level war. This constant immigration with absolutely no intention of integrating into the broader culture.

Why did I leave? Life was busy plus I had little left to say. That has changed.
