Diverse Differences

I doubt most libertarians would agree with the feminists who argue that gender is nothing more than a social construct created to control women. Most gender-specific behaviors reflect real aspects of human nature which most rational people simply taken for granted. Yet why is it so hard to accept that national boundaries represent something meaningful within human nature?
What I find infuriating is when open border types support their position by using diversity as an argument while simultaneously stating that we are all the same; which, of course, means that opposing immigration is racist!
Borders, which some have dismissed as imaginary lines on a map, matter because people matter. If we can't bound the population for which our polity is responsible, we have no polity.
