That Peaceful Religion Again

A pair of Taliban suicide bombers struck one of Pakistan's most important Sufi Muslim shrines on Sunday, killing 42 people and wounding 100 who were celebrating the anniversary of its founder's death with music, meditation and other practices abhorred by Islamist militant groups.

What do the politicians say and what does the public believe?

Many Islamist politicians do not publicly criticize the militants, preferring to spread conspiracy theories that American or Indian agents are responsible. These views are widely aired, often uncritically, in some media.

Of course, most of the time, it's those evil JEWS -- who're always, tirelessly trying to make the angelic Muslims look bad.

This is true, the Islamist politicians do not criticize the militants. Whereas, the militants want to put an end to every symbol of peace, diversity and sanity. Taliban and other terrorist have attacked schools, mosques, markets, homes and many other peaceful places. And now they also want to destroy the symbols of peace and love: the Shrines of Sufi saints. Let's assume if there are American or Indian agents behind all this then, what our security agency are doing? What have these Islamist Politicians contributed towards stoping all this?

The services of these Sufi Saints for the cause of peace and harmony have been appreciated by nearly all historians. These Saints are equally revered by different religious communities. Now by attacking the tombs of these saints the terrorists want to disseminate a message that there is no room for any kind of peaceful activity that is against their narrow minded bigotry.
