The End is Not Nigh
Jul 20, 2008
Daily Tech via Small Dead Animals:
The American Physical Society, an organization representing nearly 50,000 physicists, has reversed its stance on climate change and is now proclaiming that many of its members disbelieve in human-induced global warming.
Oops!
Monckton, who was the science advisor to Britain's Thatcher administration, says natural variability is the cause of most of the Earth's recent warming. "In the past 70 years the Sun was more active than at almost any other time in the past 11,400 years ... Mars, Jupiter, Neptune’s largest moon, and Pluto warmed at the same time as Earth."
I still blame the SUVs.
Update
Alex writes in the comments:
The APS did NOT change their stance, they simply published two articles which represent two opposing viewpoints on the issue. Or, in even fewer words "Asher lied".
Doh.
I thought that Bush and the Israeli lobby were to blame for all things like this. You know, unpleasant facts and such.

Actually, that article is full of shit. I'm not a True Believer in AGW either, but pushing these kinds of articles only makes us look every bit as stupid as a Al Gore. Here's an explanation of what's wrong with the article:

For those too lazy to click the link, I can sum it up in one sentence: The APS did NOT change their stance, they simply published two articles whic represent two opposing viewpoints on the issue. Or, in even fewer words "Asher lied".
