The King of Fruits is Pricey

Uber Desi writes about the high cost of bringing Indian mangoes to the American market. A mango from Mexico is around $1. That's how much they cost at my local grocery store.

The ones from India can be close to $3 each.

Yes, but a mango from Mexico is probably more likely to end up killing you because of the crap that Mexicans will sometimes do to stick it to the gringos. That, and one of the reasons you have to wash fruit thoroughly is because they tend to piss in the fields where they're working, and if you're not careful you can get all sorts of lovely microbes like Hepatitis.
