As you can see, "Earth Hour" had practically zero effect on the electricity demand in the Province of Ontario. While electricity use was barely below forecast, it was actually up slightly from the previous hour!

I love the idea of a Power Hour to counter this foolishness. Really shows the difference between world views - on one side you have people who are so ashamed of our accomplishments that they want to hide their faces in the dark, while on the other you've got those who want to illuminate our achievements in a glorious blaze of light, and scream against the darkness at the tops of their lungs.

I remember riding in a car through Manhattan after midnight in 1999. The large columns of concrete, glass and metal stood as monuments to the ingenuity of man. I would never wish for them to be not lighted.
