I think one of the things that tore down the ability of the Middle East to move on as a region and group of civilizations was the way that Islam approaches sin. Christianity, which used to be as dominant there as in Europe, teaches that a woman's beauty is no excuse for a man's lust.

Now, you see this sort of inability to take responsibility for anything so common place among the Muslims. How can a civilization move forward, when the men are such slaves to their passions that they cannot control their sex drives much at all?

That's a good point. The human form is not accorded its due in Islamic nations. For example, to them: Any Kind of Nudity = Pornography. Which I've learned is a most unhealthy way of looking at, and living among, the opposite sex.

I used to take public transport to my place of work. I would switch buses. The whole trip one-way would take over an hour. During this time I would see numerous girls and women without any burqas. Believe it or not, I didn't rape a single one!

A woman minus a burqa would cause a scandal in Saudi Arabia. The mutaween would be on the scene, she'd be arrested, and her guardian called so he could pick up the shameless slut.

It's not apparent at first view but this mindset treats both men and women as brainless beings: A woman is purely a sexual object and a man is an out-of-control beast who jumps at the nearest "uncovered meat".
