The Devil Pontificates
Aug 26, 2006
Muslihoon left this illuminating link in the comments. An excerpt:
The Prophet [Muhammed] said, "Were dogs not a species of creature I should command that they all be killed; but kill every pure black one." [Muslim, Narrated AbuDharr: "...The black dog is a devil."]
[Emphasis mine.]
Ladies and gentlemen, this devil, according to Islam, should be killed.
Thanks, Isaac.

It says in the link, that muslims should take black dogs to the pound, to get them put down. Does that include other people's black dogs? While I understand the wisdom in avoiding wild dogs in the arabian desert of 7th century, I find it uncanny that a religion can be so rigid, as to deny people to have such pets in the 21st century. If anything should be banned here, it should be the backward mentality of your average imam.

"While I understand the wisdom in avoiding wild dogs in the arabian desert of 7th century, I find it uncanny that a religion can be so rigid [...]"
That's the WHOLE problem right there. What Muhammed said or did about homosexuality, alcohol, dogs, apostasy, Jews etc. in the 7th century is just as valid in the 15th, 21st or 28th century.
The rest of the world has evolved by multitudes since the death of Muhammed. The "true" Muslims, however, still cling to that retrograde worldview *and* they want to impose their nirvana on the rest of the globe.
