Patriarchy fail
A good video from a mother: Feminism and the Disposable Male.
She said something very profound at 7:23: "To be important to society a woman merely has to be; a man has to do in order for his life to have any meaning to anyone other than himself."

Very interesting. I would never encourage anyone--including any guy--to be a doormat. Nor should women be encouraged to wipe their feet. I would point out, however, that intraspecies struggle and competition continue even though the human race as a whole is well established.
Puts me in mind of an essay by one of my favorite authors, Robert A. Heinlein, called "The Pragmatics of Patriotism". It was published in his collection "Expanded Universe" but can be found online here http://westernrifleshooters.blogspot.com/2008/03/pragmatics-of-patriotism.html
