Craziness in the EU

The Daily Mail via View from the Right:

Using 'Miss' and 'Mrs' has been banned by leaders of the European Union because they are not considered politically correct.

Brussels bureaucrats have decided the words are sexist and issued new guidelines in its bid to create 'gender-neutral' language.

When will the dreaded patriarchy end?

"Ms" is a useful term when you want to address a woman with a bit of formality and you don't know whether she's married or not. I don't know why things can't be just optional, they have to be either banned or forced.

As to the gender-neutral stuff, that's been tried periodically since the 70's. I don't know why it's such a crisis now when we've blathered along this long with "firemen" and not "firepersons".
