Pedestrian Infidel: Why Do People Convert to Islam?

A big reason for conversion is that one immediately gets a feeling of solidarity with over a billion Muslims. One often hears Muslims utter that statistic, "The Muslim population of the world is 1.4 billion and growing!" As though, sheer numbers somehow prove that Islam is dandy.

Marriage is another reason. Still, why would women want to convert? I really don't know. Though, the women converts sure do please the men among the Ummah (new fields to plough!).
